Istinye University was founded in 2015 by the 21st Century Anatolian Foundation as a continuation of 25 years of experience and knowledge of MLP Care Group, which is a part of the corporation of three different hospital brands, namely Liv Hospital, Medical Park and VM.
Istinye University (ISU) has been ranked among the world’s best universities in the "World University Rankings 2025," announced by the London-based rating agency Times Higher Education (THE). This year, the THE's list includes more than 2,000 institutions from 115 countries and regions. Istinye University, which entered this list for the first time, is placed in the 1001-1200 band.In the QS World University Rankings for 2024, ISU ranks 58th in the West Asia region and is recognized as 24th among Turkish private universities. In the 2023-2024 academic year, İSÜ moved up 657 positions in the global University Ranking by Academic Performance (URAP) ranking.

Istinye University operates two main campuses
Topkapı Campus: The Campus serves as the central hub for various disciplines, hosting Faculty of Health Sciences, Vocational School including School of Health Services and Istinye University Topkapı Hospital (under construction). It is well-equipped with advanced laboratories, a research-oriented environment, and strong connections to healthcare facilities, making it suitable for both clinical and non-clinical fields. Located in the central part of Istanbul, near historical landmarks and business areas. It is well-connected by public transportation through Cevizlibağ Tramway station and Cevizlibağ Metrobus station. Address is Maltepe, Teyyareci Sami Sk. No.3, 34010 Zeytinburnu / İstanbul.
Vadi Campus: This Campus primarily caters to students studying in fields related to business, design, and communication, hosting School of Fine Arts, Design, and Architecture and Faculty of Economics, Administrative, Faculty of dentistry, Medicine and Social Sciences. The campus provides a modern infrastructure with resources tailored for creative and managerial studies, such as design studios and business simulation labs.Situated closer to Istanbul's modern business district, in a prestigious part of the city. It is connected by public transportation through Vadistanbul Bus station and Vadistanbul F3 funicular line of the Istanbul Metro. Located in Ayazağa, Azerbaycan Cd. No: 4 D:A, 34396 Sarıyer/İstanbul.

CEA Accreditation: University has received CEA accreditation, which is an accreditation that specializes in English language teaching programs. This accreditation is specifically for programs in the School of Foreign Languages, affirming the quality of their language education.
SABAK Accreditation: University has received SABAK accreditation in the specializations of Physiotherapy, Rehabilitation, Nutrition and Dietetics. This accreditation is considered very important in the field of nursing, health and social services.
TEPDAD Accreditation: It is one of the most important accreditation bodies for medical colleges in international universities as TEPDAD Medical College Accreditation Body has agreed to grant accreditation to Istinye University in 2023.
FEDEK Accreditation: Istinye University Department of Turkish Language, Literature and Other Literary Subjects has received FEDEK accreditation.

European University Association (EUA): İstinye is a member of the EUA, which supports over 850 universities across Europe in enhancing educational quality. Membership in EUA provides opportunities to participate in policy-making processes and share best practices in higher education.
ATLAS Membership at CERN: The University is also involved in the ATLAS project at CERN's Large Hadron Collider, marking its engagement in global scientific research. This membership allows İstinye's researchers and students to contribute to experiments in particle physics and enhance the university's role in high-level international research.
Başakşehir Çam ve Sakura Şehir Hastanesi: İstanbul İstinye University maintains a partnership with Başakşehir Çam & Sakura Şehir Hastanesi, a significant healthcare institution in Istanbul. This collaboration enhances İstinye's medical and healthcare programs by allowing students practical experience in a leading hospital environment. Başakşehir Çam & Sakura, known for its modern facilities and significant role in public healthcare, provides İstinye’s medical students exposure to diverse cases and cutting-edge technology, including seismically isolated structures and advanced medical infrastructure. This cooperation aligns with İstinye's objectives to integrate academic learning with practical, hands-on training, helping students prepare effectively for careers in healthcare.
