About The University of Georgia University

The University of Georgia was established in 2004 under the name "Georgian University of Social Sciences." Its founders were Professor Giuli Alasania and Professor Manana Sanadze, both distinguished doctors of Historical Sciences.

Between 2005 and 2007, the university experienced significant growth and development. During this period, Master's programs were introduced alongside Bachelor's programs, and by 2007, the university welcomed its first cohort of PhD students. In 2010, the university achieved a historic milestone when the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC) of the United States made a multimillion-dollar investment in its infrastructure—the first such investment in a post-Soviet educational institution.
