About Altınbaş University (AU) University
Altınbaş University was founded in Istanbul, Turkey, in 2008 and officially opened in 2011. It was established by Turkish businessman Ali Tanbaş and is a private educational institution under the supervision of the Mohammad Tanbaş Educational Foundation. The university aims to provide high-quality education and promote scientific research in Turkey. It includes a wide range of academic programs, particularly in medical, engineering, and administrative fields.
Currently, Altınbaş University has over 10,000 students in Istanbul, with international students making up a large portion of this number. More than 6,000 students from over 105 countries attend the university, contributing to a diverse academic environment and making it an attractive destination for students seeking an international education. According to the SCImago Ranking for 2024, the university ranked 11th among Turkish private universities for research, and 49th for innovation impact in Turkey. It also ranked 31st locally for the overall impact of research, within a list of 140 universities. In the 2025 Times Higher Education (THE) ranking, the university was placed in the 1501+ category globally.

Main Campus in Mahmutbey:
The main campus is located in Bağcılar, Istanbul, and houses most of the academic faculties, including Business Administration, Engineering, and Health Sciences. It features a central library, advanced laboratories, and modern lecture halls, as well as on-campus housing for students. -
Bakırköy Campus (Health Sciences Center):
This campus is dedicated primarily to health sciences, covering an area of 40,000 square meters. It is connected to the Medical Park Bahçelievler Hospital, which allows medical students to engage in clinical practice early in their studies. Faculties such as Medicine, Dentistry, and Pharmacy are based here. The university also operates a dental hospital in the Bakırköy area. It can be accessed via the Metrobus (public transport) or by the university shuttle bus from the Mahmutbey campus.
Gayrettepe Campus (Management and Social Sciences Center):
Focused on management and social sciences programs, this campus houses faculties such as Law, Economics, Business Administration, and Social Sciences. It also offers student clubs and social activities that encourage collaboration and creativity. The campus can be reached via the Metrobus.
