Atılım University is a private university located in the Turkish capital, Ankara. Established in 1997, it has quickly become one of Turkey's leading institutions, known especially for its strong focus on education in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and business administration.
Atılım University shapes its research policies within the framework of its vision: "To rank among the top 10 universities in Turkey and the top 500 universities worldwide in education and research."
The university organizes Undergraduate Research Project Programs (LAP) to foster a culture of academic research and develop creative and research-oriented students. These programs are among the university's most significant initiatives, preparing pioneering researchers and enabling them to reach their full potential. Atılım University houses 14 research centers and 150 laboratories, which are utilized by students for research and training purposes. One of the university’s most significant research facilities is the Center of Excellence in Metal Forming, which is among the top three advanced centers in Europe and the first and only one of its kind in Turkey.
Established in 2010 with the support of Turkey’s Ministry of Development and Atılım University, the center aims to:
- Support Turkey’s metal-forming industry.
- Develop innovative, knowledge-based manufacturing technologies.
- Produce high-value-added components.
- Manufacture new and advanced materials.
- Explore energy-efficient manufacturing options.
Similarly, the Civil Aviation Training Center at Atılım University, located at Esenboğa Airport, is the first and largest aircraft hangar established by a university in Ankara.
