Işık University is a private university located in Istanbul, Turkey. It was founded in 1996 and is considered one of the leading universities in Turkey in the fields of engineering, technology, business administration, and humanities. The university is renowned for its quality of education and attracts both local and international students from around the world.
Işık University has approximately 8,000 students, of whom over 1,100 are international students. These international students come from around 68 countries, creating a multicultural environment at the university. It ranked among the top 250 universities in the Eastern Europe and Central Asia (EECA) region in the QS World University Rankings. Other rankings, such as those from EduRank, show Işık University excelling in various academic fields, including arts and social sciences, with high rankings in areas such as philosophy, law, and anthropology.

Campuses:
Işık University has two main campuses located in different areas of Istanbul: the Şile Campus and the Maslak Campus.

Şile Campus: Located on the Asian side of Istanbul, near the Black Sea coastline in the famous Şile area. This campus offers a peaceful environment surrounded by nature, covering a large area. It hosts undergraduate faculties such as the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, as well as the Faculty of Natural Sciences.

Accreditation
Işık University holds a variety of national and international accreditations that enhance its academic standing locally and globally. Some notable accreditations include:

FEDEK Accreditation: Recognizes the quality of programs in fields such as Turkish language, psychology, and English literature.

MÜDEK Accreditation: Covers programs in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Software Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering, with some programs also receiving the EUR-ACE label, which ensures adherence to European quality standards.
