About Cairo University University

Cairo University is the second oldest Egyptian university and the third Arab university after Al-Azhar University and Al-Qarawiyyin University. Its various faculties were established during the reign of Muhammad Ali, such as the Engineering School and the Medical School in 1827 AD, but were soon closed during the reign of Khedive Muhammad Said. After a wide popular campaign demanding the establishment of a modern university led by Mustafa Kamel and others.
